"Move on! Nothing to hear here!"
Thousands of musicians have released "silent albums" to protest the increasing encroachment of AI within their profession due to potential UK laws.
The United Kingdom is well-known for doing the opposite of what anyone else with a functional brain would do. In the past, we (yes, unfortunately I live here) have watched on as most sane countries have banned loot boxes and gambling in computer games and said "Nah, that's fine". We've also robbed old people of heating during the winter months even though every person in the country would have opted to lose money on any other service than that and we voted for Brexit so...
Anyway, I digress. The issue in focus here is that the UK is planning laws to allow companies to train their AI's using copyrighted materials without consent from the artists. Just think about that for a second and try to wrap your head around how that sounds legal or "the right thing to do" in any way, shape or form. I'll wait.
But being the UK, we always think we're right so even when 99% of the Western world probably adopts the opposite view, we'll likely push ahead with this brain-fart of an idea because goddammit, we once had Churchill so we must be the best!
Artists such as Jamiroquai, Annie Lennox, Kate Bush, Damon Albarn and more have either backed this movement or actively participated in creating a "silent album". I have no love for celebrity culture, but even I know that if you make something, you should have a say in how it is used.
Ironically, I hope someone hears this and changes course. AI seems to be as rewarding as it is devastating to certain professions and in my opinion, requires swift and effective curtailing before we go beyond the point of no return; albeit I think we may have already crossed that line.

Everyone has their own opinion, but the way you state that opinion matters. Be polite or be gone.
